The 9th Annual Sisinbaki Carnival in Wamba Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, has been spotlighted as a hub for economic and agricultural development by the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Silas Agara.
Speaking at the event, Agara emphasized the carnival’s potential to boost agricultural productivity by leveraging the variety of crops showcased. “If locals capitalize on the abundance of crops presented here, agricultural productivity in the region can significantly improve,” he stated.
The carnival, initiated by Hon. Jeremiah Umaru, the representative for Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency, features vibrant traditional masquerades, cultural dances, and colorful displays. It serves as a platform for celebrating Nasarawa’s rich cultural heritage while promoting unity among communities.
Hon. Umaru described the event as a unifying force and a showcase of cultural pride. “This carnival reflects the strength of our unity and the richness of our traditions,” he remarked.
Agara praised the carnival’s ability to combine cultural preservation with economic opportunities. “Beyond preserving our cultural heritage, this event creates avenues for agricultural and rural economic growth in Sisinbaki and across Nasarawa State,” he noted.
