NDLEA Sokoto Command Intercepts Cocaine Worth Millions Of Naira At Illela borders

On the 25th of February this year at about 17:50hrs men of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency Sokoto Command attached to Illela border  intercepted a motorcycle rider trying to cross to neighbouring Niger Republic with substance suspected to be cocaine hidden in his bag in minerals bottles.
The state Acting Commandant (Operations Intelligence) Mr. Amos Bamidele said the substance weighed 1.550kg and the suspect would face the wrath of law after judgment.
“He is from Umuahia in Abia state travelling by road passing through Sokoto to Illela and Konni and finally to Algeria where the suspect is based.
“Further search into his luggage, we found his name as Awolowo Audu, on interrogation we found that he has to use that name to be able to get visa and pay permit to live in Algeria as he cannot live there with his real name Aichem Timothy as he was known,” explained the Commandant.
He said they are continuing their investigation and the possibility arresting more of other people in the cycle decide or change their business cycle.
