Anthony Joshua
World boxing champion Anthony Joshua is currently recuperating in hospital following a road accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on December 29, 2025. The Toyota Lexus SUV he was travelling in with three others reportedly crashed around midday, resulting in the death of two passengers. The Ogun State Government confirmed the incident and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
Harrysong
Afropop singer Harrysong survived a car crash on June 24, 2016, while travelling from Owerri to Lagos for a performance during Project Fame Season 9. Weeks later, the singer took to Instagram to express gratitude for surviving what he described as a narrow escape from death.
Burna Boy
Grammy Award-winning artiste Burna Boy was involved in a car accident on February 26, 2022, in the Lekki area of Lagos. The singer was driving his Ferrari 458 at the time and reportedly sustained minor injuries. He later expressed shock that bystanders focused more on recording videos than offering assistance.
Dunsin Oyekan
Gospel minister Dunsin Oyekan survived a serious road accident on September 3, 2022, while travelling from Lagos to Ibadan. Although one of his crew members sustained minor injuries, no lives were lost. Oyekan later described the incident as a miracle, revealing that their vehicle had slid underneath a trailer.
Sensational Bamidele
Gospel singer and bandleader Bamidele Adeek, popularly known as Sensational Bamidele, survived a head-on collision in Rivers State in December 2022. The vehicle conveying his team reportedly somersaulted several times. He later credited divine intervention for their survival.
CDQ
Indigenous rapper CDQ was involved in a car crash in Lagos on August 15, 2023. Sharing videos from the scene on Snapchat, the rapper showed the extent of the damage to his car but confirmed that he escaped without serious injuries.
