NEF, Gov. Zulum condole Kano Govt over death of Late Alh. Bashir Tofa, others

The Northern Elders Forum (N.E.F) on Wednesday condoled Kano State Government over the death of some of its illustrious sons.

While leading the delegation, the Convener of the Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi represented by the Wazirin Bauchi, Alh. Muhammad Bello Kirfi said they were Kano Government House to deliver their condolence on the death of some elder statesmen from the State who died recently.

“We are here to condole you over the death of Sarkin Bai, Alh. Muktar Adnan who is a man of honour, foremost medical practitioner and our founding member Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmad and a Consummate Politician, Alh. Bashir Othman Tofa.”

“Sarkin Bai was a father to us, Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmad was very active in all our activities while Alh. Bashir Tofa’s foresightedness reflected on the defence of values”.

“These great personalities have contributed alot to the development of Northern Nigeria and the entire country he said”.

He added that they are saddened by the death of of these great men who have contributed and impacted immensely in the development of humanity.

“We would continue to pray to Almighty Allah to forgive and accept their good deeds and also grant them Jannatul Firdaus and also gives the State and their families the fortitude to bear the loss he said”.

Prof.Ango also expressed appreciation to Kano State Government for the reception accorded to them.

Responding, Kano State Governor Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his Deputy Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna expressed appreciation to the N.E.F for condoling with the government and people of Kano at these moment of grief.

“Indeed we have lost some elders who selflessly have contributed to the growth and progress of Kano State”.

Meanwhile, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has also paid a condolence visit to Kano to commiserate with the State Government and its people over the passing away of late Alh. Bashir Othman Tofa.

The Governor represented by a high powered delegation led by the Speaker of the Borno State House Of Assembly, Alh.Abdulkarim Lawan described the deceased as a patriotic Nigerian, rare breed politician and a man of integrity who contributed invaluably to the development of Kano and Borno States respectively.

According to him, the death of Late Alh. Bashir Tofa affects not only the two states but the entire country due to his contribution towards strengthening of values and the democratic ideals.

“We received the news of the demise of this gentleman with sadness therefore we are praying to Almighty Allah (S.W.T) to reposed his soul, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and also gives his family the courage to bear the irreparable loss Zulum said”.

Speaking, Gov.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his Deputy, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna thanked Gov. Zulum for showing concern over the death of the Late. Alh.Bashir Tofa which he described as an expression of brotherhood.. he therefore prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.

He however prayed that the relationship between the two states to continue to wax stronger.
