The Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and conflict resolution, (CHRCR), Comrade Abdul Miliki on Friday in Lokoja, called on the organised labour to go back to the negotiations table with government over the 30,000 minimum wage salary to workers in the state.
Comrade Abdul who made the call in a press statement and made available to Journalists in Lokoja said the organised Labour in Kogi state has gone into slumber after opening the 30,000 minimum wage negotiations with government.
“Kogi state workers can not be made a scapegoats, as they are the creators of the wealth that politicians fritter away with reckless abandon.”
He stressed that Since the commencement of the payment of minimum wage by the federal government and even some states to workers, kogi state government is yet to conclude negotiations talk with the organized labour.
The Director said Minimum wage is a constitutional and legal matter which is yet to materialized in Kogi state 18 months after the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammudu Buhari, signed into law, the minimum wage benefits for workers.
