NEMA spends N112.1bn for Disaster Management Within 11years

Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency, Mustapha Habib Ahmed, yesterday said NEMA spent N112.1bn on disaster management in the last 11 years.

He stated this while making a submission before the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee investigating the accruals and utilisation of the Ecological Fund.

He said the agency received a sum of N110.4bn within the same period.

He said: “Details of the request based on the committee’s template. Number one, 2010 documents could not be sighted as they were vandalized during the ENDSARS protests. 

“A police extract to that effect has been obtained and is hereby attached.”
