New Management Appointed for UDUTH College of Nursing Sciences

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), Sokoto, has appointed a new leadership team for its College of Nursing Sciences, effective June 2, 2025.

The new appointments are as follows:

  • Mal. Garba UsmanProvost: A registered nurse with a Bachelor’s degree from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and a Master’s degree in Nursing Education from the same institution. He currently serves as Deputy Director, Nursing (DDNL).
  • Mrs. Temi Tope AdeosunDeputy Provost and Head, Department of Midwifery: A registered nurse and midwife with a Nursing degree from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). She also holds the designation of DDNL.
  • Mrs. Suwaiba SaniHead, Department of Nursing: A registered nurse with a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Community Nursing from Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAUN), Maradi, Niger Republic. She currently holds the position of Assistant Director, Nursing (ADNL).

According to UDUTH’s Head of Public Affairs, Mansur Wadata, the appointments were conveyed via separate letters signed by the Deputy Director of Administration (Human Resources). Each appointment is for an initial term of two years, renewable for a second and final term based on satisfactory performance.

The new appointments follow the voluntary retirement of the former Provost, Mrs. Grace Isiaku Amadu.

Wadata added that the new management team brings over a decade of experience in nursing and academic leadership. The hospital management expressed confidence that the new team will further enhance the college’s academic and professional excellence.
