New NDYM President promises multiple training platforms for N’Delta youths

THE re-elected president of Niger Delta Youth Movement, NDYM Mr. Joe Jackson has promised to collaborate with relevat organizations to create multiple skill acquisition training platforms for youths in the region.

He has also pledged to liase with all stakeholders to ehnance the progress of youths of the region.

Jackson who spoke briefly to newsmen yesterday in Uyo polled a total of 57 votes out of 90 votes cast to defeat, Boboye Peretu from Bayelsa State to emerge winner of the number one position of the pan Niger Delta youth movement.

He appreciated all the delegates drawn from the nine states of the Niger Delta for finding him and other executive members worthy to pilot the affairs of the movement for next four years.

“For the position of Secretary, Comrade Joshua Ediagbovo polled a total of 51 votes to defeat Comrade Honesty Asemota who polled 39 votes from a total of 90 votes cast.

“Ten delegates were drawn from each of the nine states of the Niger Delta to participate in the election. Other executive positions filled by candidates from other states of the region and they were all returned unopposed.

“And I pledge to create multiple platforms for training and retraining of youths of the Niger Delta region through active collaboration with all multinational Corporations whose operations cover the region” he said.

The president-elect also pledged to set up a committee that shall liaise with all interventionist agencies of government for the benefit of Niger Delta youths.

He said he was happy that delegates, observers, past Leaders of the movement all expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the election and adjuged the process most transparent in the history of youth politics in the region.
