NGO, Activist lobby Emefiele to contest for President

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Kids in Need Society International and human rights activist, Solomon Semaka have called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele to contest for the exalted office of President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The duo in a demand letter through their counsel, Sorkaa & Associates said it was confident that with Mr. Emefiele as President, Federal Republic of Nigeria there was guarantee that Nigerians will have several employment opportunities, good life and basic necessities of life which he has demonstrated as head of the apex bank.

Consequently, the two assured of the willingness of Nigerians to contribute to purchase the Interest and Nomination Form for Mr Emefiele.

“The brief of our clients reveals that you have contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria especially the educational, agricultural sectors and creation of job opportunities for millions of youths.

“Our brief further reveals that you have the capacity and experience having served excellently as Governor of the Central Bank to tackle the challenges of high level of unemployment in Nigeria.

“Furthermore, Nigeria in its present form cannot survive without your intervention as you possess the competence and patriotism to salvage the country as President.

“Your declaration for the Office of President, Federal Republic of Nigeria will guarantee that Nigerians will have a right to employment, good life and basic necessities of life which only you can give once elected as President, Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023”, the letter read in parts.

It further urged the CBN Governor as a mark of patriotism to declare his interest to run within 30 days or face legal action for failure to offer himself for higher service for the good of the nation.

“We hereby demand that you declare your aspiration for President, Federal Republic of Nigeria within 30 days as you possess the magic wand to tackle the issue of unemployment and provide millions of jobs to our unemployed youths as well as unite the country when elected as President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Take notice that should you fail to adhere to the demand of our clients’ after the expiration of 30 days upon the receipt of our correspondence; we will have no option but to take legal action to compel you to do so and shall mobilise unemployed Graduates to protest at the Unity fountain , Abuja without recourse to you to compel you to declare for President, Federal Republic of Nigeria 2023”, the letter added.
