.
“Based on our experiences and years of research, we found out that orphanages are not the best place for children; though they stand as temporary solutions to the interventions for children to have care. Whether they have come out of abusive situations or tragedy struck and the parents died, we need to find a place for them to stay Permanently eventually .”
“Children should not continue to remain in orphanages for five, 10, 15 years but unfortunately we have children in the orphanages across who have remained there for a very long time and we are seeing how that is adversely affecting them. .”
“We insist that orphanages are not the best places for orphans to live and grow.”
According to her, “We are pushing for kinship care, reunification and family strengthening.”
Chairman of the Board of Kingdom Kids Klub Professor Nenfort Gomwalk who spoke earlier said the Inauguration of the Transition council shows the NGO’s unwavering commitment to their belief that children belong to a family .
” A journey that started 13 years ago has culminated into a tapestry of stories crafted by God and knitted by the Global Director of the Kingdom Kids Mrs Sandra Chikan .”
” Mrs Chikan’s prayers and support has provided care to children in this home for the past 13 years and we are now at a time and place where to embrace a model of care that serves the best interest of the children.”.
He added that ” We are confident that your invaluable support will help us as we navigate challenges that may come and make good decisions in the best interest of our children.”
