Minna, March 13, 2020 The Niger State House of Assembly says it is looking forward to receiving suggestions and a private bill to institutionalise standards and quality of buildings in the state.
Alhaji Abdullahi Wuse, Speaker of the House, stated this on Friday in Minna, when he received members of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Niger State Chapter.
Wuse, who was represented by the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Mohammed Kagara, said that the House was ready to collaborate with the association to checkmate building collapse in the state.
He said he had directed the House Committee on Works, Land and Housing, to partner with the body to ensure professionalism among its members.
Earlier, Dr Kunle Awobodu, National President of the association, said that the association was working towards the promotion of standard building construction in Niger.
Awobodu, who was represented by Mr Ibrahim Hassan, the state chairman of the association, assured that the body would not relent in the efforts to flush out quacks in the building profession.
