Nigeria@63: Agricultural Sector In Progress-Jigawa AFAN

The Jigawa state chairman of All Farmers Association, (AFAN) Alhaji Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga has described agricultural sector as the bedrock of the Nigerian economy through better government policy and close collaboration with agricultural development agencies as well as research institutes.

He stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in Dutse, adding that from the independence to date, different administrations have done their efforts to ensure that food production is getting more progress at both levels and in accordance with different crops clusters.

Mai Unguwa Jaga added that Nigeria is seriously in needs of more plans for agricultural reformation especially when the world is advancing in mass food production for economic progress that bring real change in the sector, where he commended the present administration for opening more windows of opportunities to Nigerian farmers.

” On behalf of the state AFAN executives council members,the local government and wards leaders as well as Jigawa farmers, we facilitate with the people and government of Jigawa state and the country at large on the 63rd anniversary celebrations and prays for more national development at all levels”.

In conclusion, Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga thanked the executive governor of Jigawa state Malam Umar Namadi Dan Modi for including agriculture into his administration’s 12 point agenda which is a clear indication that Jigawa farmers would continue to benefits from his government policies.
