Nigerian Army Opens Recruitment for Tradesmen and Non-Tradesmen

The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of recruitment for tradesmen, non-tradesmen, and women as part of its 89th Regular Recruits Intake.

In a statement posted on its official X handle on Tuesday, the Army stated that the online application process is now open to interested candidates.

According to the statement, “The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that applications for the 89th Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen and Women are now open.

“Interested candidates can apply online for free via http://recruitment.army.mil.ng from March 31 to May 17, 2025. However, multiple applications will result in disqualification.”

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a screening exercise in their respective states of origin from June 2 to June 16, 2025.

The Army further outlined the eligibility requirements, stating that applicants must:

  • Be single and Nigerian citizens by birth.
  • Possess a National Identity Card (NIN) and BVN printout.
  • Meet the Nigerian Army’s medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards.
  • Have no criminal convictions.
  • Provide a valid birth certificate from the National Population Commission, hospital, or local government, or an officially recognized age declaration.
  • Hold a valid certificate of state of origin.
  • Meet the minimum height requirement of 1.68 meters for men and 1.65 meters for women.

Candidates are encouraged to visit the application portal for further details on the registration process.
