Nigerians Will Eternally Be Grateful to President Buhari on Agric – Gov Bindow

*We Will Continue To Take Care of Adamawa Farmers

Adamawa State Governor, Senator Muhammad Umar Jibrilla Bindow has stated that Nigerians and Nigeria will eternally be grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari for the good work he has done in every sector especially agriculture.

The Governor made the remark at the celebration of the 2018 Farmers’ Day in Mayo-Belwa Local Govt of the state, Sunday.

According to Bindow, it is was an insightful leadership move by President Buhari to put in all the necessary infrastructures required to revive agriculture in the country and further urged every Nigerian to go back to farm.

“Agriculture has been a key area of Nigeria’s economy long before we discovered oil. It is in this regard, the president has done everything possible to help farmers across the country and today majority of Nigerians are doing very well with their farming”.

“Nigeria and Nigerians will be eternally grateful to the president for this foresight and vision in making farming the success story it is today. The people of Adamawa state, especially the people of Mayo-Belwa wish to thank the president for his wonderful agricultural initiatives as well as the ongoing road construction in the area. Come 2019, we will show him more gratitude with our votes”, the governor said.

“On our part, in an effort to also boost agriculture in the state, we have distributed over 153 tractors to the practicing farmers across the state. Farmers who have never benefited from this kind of gesture in the past and they are here to attest to this. I wish to state again that we will continue to take care of them.”

“We also distributed raining and dry season fertilizers to these practicing farmers and we have a plan in place to give loans to youths who wants to join agriculture but lack the capital to do so”.

“We are partnering with some Chinese investors and we will bring them to build some rice factories here and I want to promise the good people of Mayo-Belwa that the first of such factory will be built here in Mayo-Belwa”.

The Governor then appealed to this businessmen in the state to help develop the sector by establishing agricultural factories like it’s done in other states and also called on the people of the state to embrace peace and love one another.

On his part, the Sarkin Noman Adamawa and district head of Mayo Farang, Alhaji Mustapha Ahmadu said, farming is a way of life for them and plead on Bindow to ensure the establishment of a rice factory in the area to help boost the sector.

Also speaking at the event, the chairman of the Mayo-Belwa Amalgamated Farmers Association, Alhaji Abdul Yahaya, said the success story of rice farming in the area is based on the encouraging policy of President Buhari and Governor Bindow through their laudable projects with RIFAN, MAAN, NECAS and others.

Speaking earlier, the commissioner for agriculture, Ahmadu Waziri said, the Bindow administration has rolled up a superb plan for a farming festival and the govt has made tremendous effort in ensuring a sustainable agricultural boost in the state.
