NIREC calls on NPC new boss to use office to broker peace, unify Christians and Muslims

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Inter Religious Council, NIREC, Rev. Fr Cornelius Omonokhua has urged the new Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Pilgrims Commission, NPC, Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam to use his office to effect unity between Christians and Muslims in the country.

Omonokhua made this call today when NIPEC members paid a courtesy visit to Dr Pam in his office in Abuja.
He said, ” NIREC as a body of Christians and Muslims is urging the ES to use his office as a unifying sector to bring Christians and Muslims in the country together.”

He said that the Council is praying for the ES to succeed in his tenure in office as Nigeria will be great again.
Executive Secretary of NPC, Dr Pam said that NIREC has brought Christianity and Islam together, adding ” we have to unify the body of Christ in Nigeria.

NIREC has brought the two religions together to speak to Federal Government on policies; adding that under his leadership partnership has began between the two prominent religions.

Pam called on religious leaders to also promote unity in the country and not to leave it to politicians.
Meanwhile members of the Plateau House of Assembly led by former Speaker of the Plateau House of Assembly, Istafanus Mwansat who also paid a courtesy visit on Rev. Fr. Pam called on him not to disappoint the nation defend the Christian faith and to leverage on his experiences as the Christian Association , CAN , to take NPC to the next level.

They further promised to support the ES to ensure that he succeeds in office.
Rev Pam noted that as an advocate against corruption he would ensure that the Commission is raised to eliminate all forms of corruption from the country.

He promised to make the Commission institution worthy of emulation by others.
