NMA Inaugurates NAMDA Sokoto UDUS/UDUTH Branch

Inaugurating another Medical body established in October this year with the name, Nigeria Medical and Dental Association, the NAMDA Chairman, Dr. Yahaya Muhammad said Dental Association was the first medical association to be registered in Nigeria.

He said their comprise any medical doctor or dental surgeon registered with the medical and dental council of Nigeria employed or either as a full-time, regular or contract staff and engages in research, lecturing, teacher or training of students at the undergraduate levels.

Dr. Yahaya further said their major objectives are to serve an organization of AMDA employed by tertiary health and academic activities as well as to defend the maintenance of high standards of academic performance and professional practice and promote, protect and defend a just and proper condition of service for members.

It is also to promote the advancement of medical education and professional training in Nigeria among others.

“This body is not in anyway connected to ASUU”, averred the Chairman.

Executive Members inaugurated are Doctors Usman Waziri, Murtala Abubakar, Bello Usman and Kasimu Saidu as vice Chairman, Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Treasurer.

Others are Fatima Bello as Financial Secretary, Lukman Ajiboye as welfare Secretary, Sufuyan Yabo as Internal Auditor, Umar Mukhtar as IPC and Aliyu Koko as Public Relations Ofiicer respectively.
