The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lt. General Jeremiah Useni (Rtd), who died on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

In a statement made available to journalists, the Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said the news of General Useni’s death was received “with rude shock.”

The Forum praised the late General for his life of selfless service, highlighting his significant contributions to the military, politics, his community, and the nation at large.

Describing him as a “true soldier, pathfinder, visionary, erudite, astute politician, and gentleman par excellence,” the Forum acknowledged his unwavering advocacy for a united, progressive, and prosperous Nigeria.

According to the statement, “He was a strong advocate of a united, progressive, and prosperous Nigeria. His contributions will be greatly missed as the nation’s democracy continues to evolve.”

Alhaji Zazzaga extended his deepest sympathies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian Armed Forces, General Useni’s immediate family, his community, and all those mourning the loss of the distinguished elder statesman.

“May his soul rest in peace,” the statement concluded.
