Northern CAN mourns its deceased Secretary-General

The Northern Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed shock over the untimely demise of its Secretary General, Mr Danladi Yerima.

Rev. Yakubu Pam, the Chairman of Northern CAN, in condolence message on Tuesday in Jos, described Yerima as a humble man who stood firmly in defence of the cause of Christians and the gospel of Christ in the North and Nigeria at large.

our corresponded reports that Yerima died on Wednesday, March 11, after a brief illness.

Pam described the deceased as a calm, peaceful and well composed personality who stood for the poor and the needy in the society.

“I have worked closely with the deceased and I can say that he lived a life of selflessness and complete devotion to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

“He has contributed immensely to the propagation of the Gospel of Christ to many particularly in Northern Nigeria.

“Late Yerima stood for Justice, peace and unity of Christians in the North despite the persecution of the church.

“CAN in Northern Nigeria will certainly miss his wise counseling, wealth of experience and selfless service,” he said

The chairman commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased and the entire Christian community in Northern region and Nigeria at large over the painful loss.

Pam urged the family to be consoled by the fact that Yerima has gone to be with the Lord, adding that the good legacies he left behind in various fields of endeavour would live after him.

corresponded reports that Yerima’s body would be buried on Saturday, March 21, at Kufana in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
