Northwest University Holds Maiden Matriculation, Graduates 200 Students

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ahmad Maigari ibrahim, in his matriculation speech said their goal is to create an institution that sets itself apart, become the envy of its peers and serves as shining example of academic excellence, research and innovation.

“We are committed to building an institution that continually pushes the boundaries of knowledge, challenges conventional wisdom and make a meaningful impact in our society”.

He further averred that they invested more on state-of-the-art facilities and the latest technologies to provide with an exceptional learning experience. He said they had estabished libraries, research centres and labotories that allow participations in cutting edge research and innovation.

“As Vice Chacellor,I have obligation to you, I promise to work tirelessly to provide the basic educational experience, a stimulating and inclusive environment and ample opportunities for personal growth and development”.

The founder of the Universiry, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamamkko in his remarks at the matriculation ceremony shared with the public the vision that drove the establishment of Northwest University Sokoto.

He said it was a desire that serves as a hub off knowledge ,where robust research is carried out,

“Our University motto, “Knowledge, Excellence and Success” encapsulates the core values that underpin our vision. We believe knowledge is the key to unlocking human potential and through knowledge we strive to empower our students to become agents of positive change in society.

He said he is committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that fosters knowledge, excellence and achievement and encouraged all to make the most of the opportunities, embrace the values of this institution and strive for excellence

The state governor, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto averred that Sokoto state government will sponsor 85 indigenes into the school.

He further reiterated that for the interest the state government has on education, they paid three years school fees not paid by the past administration adding they would do everything possible to revive the standards of education in the state.
Faculties like Education, Management and Social Sciences and Computing Science are being run in the Institution.
