Notorious Illegal Checkpoint Kingpin Nabed By DSS In Benue State

A notorious Illegal Checkpoint Mastermind, Orih Joseph,operating in Benue South, popularly known as Zone C has been arrested by the operatives of the Department of State Service, DSS.

A statement by the Media Assistant to the Acting Executive Chairman, Benue Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, Jacinta Bernard, explained that the arrest of the suspect came after several attempts to dislodge the criminal activities of his men failed.

Reacting to the development, the Acting Executive Chairman BIRS, Mr Emmanuel Agema, lauded the efforts of the Operatives of the DSS over Orih’s arrest, adding that it was a significant success in the efforts to rid the state of all illegal checkpoints, and other fraudulent activities associated with revenue collection.

Mr Agema assured that the service under his watch, would give the necessary support to the security agencies in the state to ensure the arrest of other members of Orih’s gang, and others still operating discretely in some parts of the state.

According to the statement, the suspect will soon be arraigned in the court of law for prosecution.
