Maigari said that the NSCD FCT Command is one of the security agencies that would provide security for the election is fully ready for the exercise.

He noted that the Nigeria Police Force is the lead agency as far as election security is concerned, but with the support of other components of the security system, who are part of the Election security Committee.

According to him, “Although the Command will be deploying a total number of three thousand personnel, just only for the election, but much more personnel will be deployed to protect critical infrastructure and national assets.

“Equally, some other supporting units will assist in the provision of security, interestingly , the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar, has pool supported the Command, with vehicular logistics and other equipment that would be needed for the election, so that we will have a free, fair and credible exercise.”

Furthermore the FCT Commandant, enjoined officers and men that would be involved in the exercise to ensure to strictly observe the code of conduct security personnel.

He urged key political actors and their supporters to shun violence, by conducting themselves in an orderly and peaceful manner, as the election is not a do or die affair.

“Violence will not be tolerated, even in celebration for those who will win, let them be magnanimous in their victory, so as to accommodate those whom they feel have lost their elections.”

This is because this election is between brothers and sisters, so there is no point for violence,Abubakar cautioned.
