The Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi, has assured the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) of his collaborative support in achieving the association’s shared goals.
He gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the NSE leadership, led by its President, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, at his office on 12 August 2025.
Umahi commended the NSE’s role as the umbrella body for engineers in Nigeria, praising its efforts in upholding strict standards, professional ethics, and promoting the interests of the engineering profession.
Describing the body as a critical stakeholder in the Renewed Hope agenda of revolutionising road infrastructure, the Minister noted that engineering best practices and innovative solutions are central to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policy direction.
Earlier, Oguntala said the visit was to formally inform the Minister about the NSE’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting, scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, in the first week of December 2025.
She is the first female president in the history of the NSE.
