By   Milcah   Tanimu

The Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has praised the Dangote Refinery for its groundbreaking start in producing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as gasoline. This landmark achievement marks a major milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards energy independence and economic development.

In a letter to Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President/CEO of the Dangote Group, NUPENG’s General Secretary, Afolabi Olawale, celebrated the refinery’s opening as a “monumental step forward” for Nigeria. The union highlighted the potential job opportunities and socio-economic benefits this development promises for Nigerians.

NUPENG commended President Bola Tinubu and Dangote, recognizing their role in achieving this significant accomplishment. The successful production at the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery not only advances Nigeria’s energy sector but also enhances its economic growth.

Expressing support, NUPENG affirmed its commitment to safeguarding the refinery’s progress and collaborating to ensure the oil and gas industry’s continued success.
