NUT adopts Gov sule, Matawalle as sole candidates for 2023

The Nigerian Union of teachers NUT Toto local government chapter of Nasarawa state have unanimously adopted Barrister Labaran Magaji Matawalle Toto and Governor Abdullahi Sule for 2023

The union in a voice vote endorses Governor Abdullahi Sule as its sole candidate for 2023 gubernatorial elections and Matawalle as sole candidate for Nasarawa west senatorial district.

The chairman of the union, Salihu Idris, said that the decision was arrived at after a careful analysis of their contributions to nation building.

Comrade Idris said that the union will mobilize parents and its members to ensure the success of Matawalle and Engr Abdullahi Sule for 2023.

He explained that teachers as the trainers of leaders of tomorrow have seen the potential of good leaders in the two gentlemen that will give the state and the zone a good representation.

Comrade Idris added that the union will mobilize both human and financial resources to ensure that the aspiration of governor AA Sule and Matawalle comes to fruition for a better Nasarawa state.

The union leader appealed to other groups and individuals in the state to plead with Matawalle to consider the request by many groups for him to run for the seat.

“We as teachers will go all out to appeal to parents and other groups to give A.A Sule and Matawalle support during the 2023 elections”

Responding, Matawalle said all hands must be on deck to ensure the rapid development of the state.

He called on all to come together and ensure that the present administration in the state succeeds and give those at the helm of affairs support to move the state forward.

He added that he is consulting widely on the senatorial seat for 2023 and will make his decision public soon.
