The Project Implementation Committee (PIC), inaugurated as part of the partnership between the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development (SV-NED INC USA/SV-NED Energy Ltd) in collaboration with foreign investors, has been tasked with fostering economic growth, skills development, job creation, and national unity in Nigeria.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held in Abuja on December 19, 2024, the Chairman of SV-NED INC USA/SV-NED Energy Ltd, Her Royal Highness Queen Mother Ambassador Amina Temitope Labinjo Ajayi (JP, Mama Diaspora), highlighted the significance of the partnership.

“This inauguration marks a major milestone in our collaboration with the NYSC and foreign investors,” she stated. “The Project Implementation Committee represents a critical step forward in our shared vision to drive economic growth, develop skills, create jobs, and promote national unity.”

Ambassador Ajayi emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in achieving national goals, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. She noted that the partnership aims to empower Nigerian youths and foster economic development through various initiatives.

“The committee will oversee the execution of joint projects, including the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Conversion Center and Housing Projects. We are confident it will provide the leadership necessary to advance this partnership,” she added.

Ambassador Ajayi also reiterated the commitment of SV-NED to addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit. “The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has embarked on the construction of 10,112 housing units under the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Program,” she said.

Representing the NYSC Director-General at the event, Director of Legal Services Mr. Christopher Ogar acknowledged the potential benefits of the collaboration for corps members and the wider Nigerian community. He noted that exposure to SV-NED’s expertise in energy would elevate the NYSC experience from routine service to a platform for advanced knowledge, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

Other key figures in attendance included Mr. Momoh Mohammed, NYSC Director of Ventures; Engr. Kamaru Busari FNSC, Director of Upstream Operations at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources; and Mr. Kehinde Aremu, NYSC Director of Sales.

The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the stakeholders’ commitment to creating opportunities for Nigerian youths and advancing economic growth in alignment with national development goals.
