The Obaro of Kabba, His Royal Majesty Oba Solomon Dele Awoniyi, has praised the significant strides achieved at Kogi State Polytechnic under the leadership of Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman.
During a visit to the Polytechnic on Monday, Oba Awoniyi commended the Rector for his humility and respect for traditional institutions, describing these traits as reflections of his exemplary character.
The monarch congratulated Professor Usman on his reappointment for a second term and his elevation to the rank of Professorship. He acknowledged the Rector’s outstanding leadership, which he said has greatly improved the Polytechnic’s curriculum, operations, and outcomes.
“These achievements are the result of discipline, hard work, determination, service, integrity, quality education, and sound leadership,” Oba Awoniyi noted. He further pledged his continued support for the institution’s management and offered prayers for the Polytechnic’s sustained growth and success.
In his response, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman expressed gratitude to the Obaro of Kabba for the inspiring royal visit. He highlighted the unique diversity of the Polytechnic’s student population, noting that it attracts students from over 26 states across Nigeria.
“This diversity is a testament to the Polytechnic’s commitment to inclusivity, which sets it apart from other institutions,” Professor Usman said.
The visit underscored the close relationship between the institution and the traditional leadership, fostering collaboration for the betterment of education in the state.
