Obasanjo Applauded Sokoto Government For Executing People Oriented Projects

The former president made the commendation when the Governor led him to the residence of senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko at Gawon Nama area for a courtesy visit ahead of the commissioning of the projects executed by the administration of Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto in the state.

The former president, while congratulating the governor for executing several developmental projects in the state, he also called on him to continue with the good work he started for the last one year of his administration.

Chief Obasanjo, further called on the Governor to ensure maximum usage of the media to publicize his administration’s activities as those far away from Sokoto can visibly see what the governor is doing for the development of his people.

The former Nigerian president also added that agri-business is the key to generating revenues and reducing youth restiveness and idleness for the socioeconomic growth of the state.

Obasanjo further explained that he is not surprising by the way governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto is succeeding in his administration as he has a political mentor who drives him towards that success.

Mr. Obasanjo thanked Senator Wamako for bringing Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto as governor of the state, which he said the son is following the footsteps of his father in terms of initiating good policies and programs for the overall development of the state.

Spokesman to Senator Wamakko, Bashar Abubakar said the Senator while welcoming the August visitor to his residence on behalf of the governor and the former Minister of Police Affairs Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, Senator Wamakko appreciated Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for honoring the invitation of the governor to come to Sokoto and partake in the commissioning of many developmental projects executed by the administration of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

Senator Wamakko urged the former President not to relent in his efforts in advising the present leaders to ensure doing good for the betterment of the country.

On the current economic challenges facing the country, Senator Wamakko expressed confidence that all that will be the thing of the past,even as he said, is a global phenomenon.

He charged all to join hands to make Nigeria a better and prosperous nation.

He also called on the importation of the products rather than exportation for economic growth of the nation.

Senator prayed Allah Almighty to take the visiting guest back to his hometown safely.
