The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has officially commissioned the DAM Foundation Civic Recreation Complex in Okene, describing the facility as a strategic tool for youth empowerment, human capital development, and community transformation.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Monday, saw Governor Ododo commend the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria and founder of the DAM Foundation, Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha, FNSE, CEng, MIMechE, for his “selfless investment in humanity.” He noted that the complex would primarily serve the less privileged, vulnerable groups, and youth, while also stimulating local economic activities and complementing the state government’s development agenda.

Dr. Mustapha further announced that about 1,000 youths and women recently completed training in ICT and craft skills, receiving certificates, computers, and essential tools for artisanship, demonstrating the foundation’s commitment to practical empowerment and economic self-sufficiency.The event brought together community leaders, youths, government officials, and well-wishers, reinforcing the shared vision of leveraging education, sports, and skill acquisition** to drive development and foster opportunities for vulnerable and underserved populations.
