Rochas Okorocha, former governor of Imo state, was indicted with bribery.
The accusation came from Ahmed Gulak, chairman of the primary election committee of All Progressive Congress (APC) during the 2019 primaries for Imo state governorship.
Gulak alleged that he was offered $2 million bribe by Rochas Okorocha to deliver a return certificate to his anointed aspirant, Uche Nwosu.
According to him, because of his integrity he rejected the bribe. He went on to say that the money was free money he could have accepted without anyone dragging him to court.
In his reaction, however, Okorocha said that for what he did in Imo, Gulak should be in jail.
The former governor went further to describe Gulak as an enemy of democracy.
Okorocha’s media aide, Sam Onwuamedo, confirmed this.
He added that Gulak was used by those bent on destroying APC in the country to cause confusion in Imo state.
Furthermore, Okorocha, who denied Gulak’s accusation, insisted that the former presidential assistant is only finding ways to redeem his battered picture.
