The Ondo State Government has officially confirmed the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. The Governor, who battled prostate cancer, peacefully departed this world in Germany on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. A statement from the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss, acknowledging the profound void left by Governor Akeredolu’s departure. The government extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support during the governor’s illness. Further details about funeral arrangements will be released by the family and the state government. Governor Akeredolu is remembered as an extraordinary leader with unwavering dedication to Ondo State and the Southwest region. His courageous leadership and integrity have left an indelible mark.
