Perturbed over the disunity among the political class, and within Benue communities, a forum under the auspices of One Benue Project, has partnered with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), traditional institutions, the clergy, Legislators among others to restore unity and bring back the lost glory of the state for faster development.
The Convener of the Project, Mr Lawrence Kyuka, who made this disclosure at the NUJ house, Makurdi while briefing Journalists on their efforts to unite Benue citizens and the way forward, stressed that the project aimed at bringing peace and development to the state.
“One Benue Project is here as a foundation for peace and development. We are partnering with the local governments across the state, traditional rulers, the Clergy, Legislators, NUJ among other stakeholders to achieve this. The aim of One Benue is also to promote agriculture and to encourage local entrepreneurs to move forward”, Kyuka further stated.
According to the Convener, arrangements have reached an advanced stage to attract genuine investors to come and add value to the state. He called on all and sundry to support the project to enable it succeed.
Also speaking, State Coordinate of the project, Mr Remeo Nyamatsa, pointed out that the aim of the project is to create opportunity for the young professionals to express themselves, to encourage our young Artists as well as those into carnivals to succeed. He noted that the aim is to project unity of purpose for faster growth of the state.
“The project is to create opportunity for our young professionals to express themselves and to add value to our state, including those into carnivals and our young Artists. One Benue Project has series of events, I call on all the stakeholders to join forces with us to make the project successful.”
