Only Kwankwaso Can Decide His Political Future – Rep Jibrin

House of Representatives member for Kiru/Bebeji constituency in Kano State, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, has said that only Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso can determine his next political move, including whether to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jibrin made this known during an interview with DW following his visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

Amid speculations of ongoing discussions between President Tinubu and the Kwankwasiyya Movement leader, Jibrin clarified that while he maintains a close relationship with both men, he is not in a position to comment on Kwankwaso’s potential defection.

“My visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shouldn’t come as a surprise. Everyone is aware of my longstanding relationship with him, and likewise the mutual respect between the President and our leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. They are both political heavyweights,” he said.

He added, “It is not my place to speak on whether Kwankwaso will join the APC. Only he can make that decision. I’m too young to mediate between the two, but if reconciliation becomes necessary, it would be a welcome development.”

Jibrin also noted that he wouldn’t hesitate to act as a messenger if required. “If there was anything Kwankwaso wanted me to relay to the President, I would. And if the President had a message for Kwankwaso, I’d deliver it. That’s not an issue,” he said.
