Ortom submits N196b budget estimate for 2019

BENUE State governor, Samuel Ortom yesterday at the State House of Assembly presented a budget estimates of N196,502, 626, 436 for 2019 fiscal year.
The governor who was represented by his deputy, Benson Abounu christened the budget as “Budget of Peace, Security, and Prosperity in Benue”.

The breakdown indicated that N106 billion is for recurrent while N90 billion is for capital expenditure. According to Abounu, N52 billion is for the administrative sector, N86 billion for economic while N52.9 billion is for the social sector.
Responding, the Speaker of the House, Titus Uba on behalf of members pledged to give the budget speedy passage.

The assembly also extended the suspension of three local government council chairmen for another three months each.
The suspended chairmen included that of Vandeikya, Dennis Akura, Gwer, Vitalis Uwar, and that of Ogbadibo Local government area, James Akula and his deputy, Eugenia Ameh
The House also approved the removal of the member of the state Judicial Service Commission, Barr. John Ochoga, and member, Local government Service Commission Mike Kodoun
