Former Fenerbahçe forward Serhat Akın has hailed Victor Osimhen as the greatest striker ever to feature in the Turkish Super Lig, following the Nigerian star’s outstanding spell with Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan last season, delivered a sensational campaign — registering 45 goal involvements in 41 appearances across all competitions. His explosive form powered the Istanbul giants to a domestic double, winning both the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
Speaking to Habersarikirmizi, Akın was full of admiration for the 26-year-old striker’s impact and consistency.
“Osimhen is an extraordinary man. I think he’s the greatest centre-forward to ever grace this league,” Akın said.
He also praised Mauro Icardi, another Galatasaray forward, but emphasized that Osimhen’s all-round qualities set him apart.
“Icardi is a pure striker — he’s done incredible things over the past two years and became the top scorer,” Akın added. “But if I were a manager, I’d be thrilled to have Osimhen on my team. He’s my dream centre-forward.”
Osimhen’s dominance in Turkey has earned widespread recognition, with fans and pundits alike lauding his blend of power, pace, and finishing — attributes that have made him one of the most feared strikers in Europe.
