Osun 2022: LGSC boss describes forthcoming elections as worthy investment

By Richard Ayinde, Osogbo.

In Osun State, the year 2022 elections has been described as a worthy investment which must be undertaken by all well meaning people of the State in order to secure it’s future.

This assertion was made by the Chairman of the State Local Government Service Commission, Elder Tunde Adedeji during his working tour of some Council Areas in the State with the management team of the Commission.

Elder Adedeji, who regretted that the State was crippled between year 2003 and 2010 when the opposition held sway, warned all and sundry to avoid returning to the era, opinning that the State would have been better off if Chief Adebisi Akande had continued in office beyond 2003.

According to him, the crippling effects of those seven years are still being grappled with till date.

He then, separately, challenged council workers in Atakumosa West and Ilesa East Local Governments as well as those in Oriade South Local Council Development Authority to mobilize the public to obtain their voters card, advancing that it is the only weapon with which election warfare can be waged and won.

While assuring them that the vote of every electorate will count, he further encouraged them not to relent in publicizing the good works of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, so that the love of the masses for him can translate into votes.

Elder Adedeji further attested that the welfare of workers and the entire people of the State is paramount in the heart of the State helmsman, adding,”he is passionate about bettering the lot of the entire citizenry.”

The Commission boss expressed optimism that Governor Oyetola’s second term in office will enable him lay a solid footing, with a clear roadmap, for sustainable development like that of Lagos State, observing that the state has the potentials to become one of the leading economies of this time.

Speaking at Ipetu-ijesha, the Coordinating Director in the Commission, Prince Lekan Babalola counseled the workers to jettison all scepticms about Covid-19 vaccine, enlightening that those injected are at less risk of contacting the prevailing coronavirus.

He then charged them to take advantage of the availability of the vaccine, in all the nooks and crannies of the State, to receive the two doses and to guard up against the virus with continued observance of all the Covid-19 protocols.
