Our Desire Is To Lift Benue People Out Of Poverty Line, Says Deputy Governor

Benue State Deputy Governor, Barr Sam Ode, has expressed the desire of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration to lift the people of the state out of poverty line.
Barr Ode who gave this indication while interacting with Journalists in his office in Makurdi, emphasized that the present government desires to give Benue Citizens a new lease of life to ameliorate the hardship they are experiencing.
According to the Deputy Governor, no stone would be left unturned in ensuring that dividends of democracy gets to the door steps of the Benue people, who overwhelmingly voted them into office.
His words: ” Now electioneering campaigns are over. It is time for us to work, it is now time for us to work for the people of Benue State, to provide the needed service, to lift our people out of poverty line, to give them a lease of life.”
He commended the Governor of Benue State,  Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, for finding him worthy to run on the same ticket with him on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, stressing that many people were interested in the office but the Governor with due diligence, considered him as the best candidate.
The Deputy Governor, who acknowledged the role of Journalists towards the development of the state, urged Newsmen to engage the present administration on issues constructively, so that the world will know about the things that they have done.
“I know the importance of the media and also took that in consideration in selecting my Chief Press Secretary. As members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, anyone who ignore you is doing so at his or her own peril. For us it will be a partnership that we will embark on so that at the end of the day the people of Benue State will appreciate”.
