Gov Alia Appoints Director General, Bureau of Homeland Security

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, has appointed, Air Commodore Jacob Gbamwuan rtd, as the Director General in charge of Bureau of Homeland security in the state.

It could be recalled that the last Benue State Security Council Meeting, approved the establishment of a Bureau of Homeland security to tackle security challenges in the state.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, described the appointee as a Specialist in Law enforcement and Criminal Justice who served the Nigerian Army meritoriously before his appointment.

According to the statement, the Governor believes that, Commodore Gbamwuan who is a graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria among others, would use his wealth of experience, national and international connections as well as security expertise to tackle insecurity in the state.

While congratulating the new Director General, Governor Alia, Implored him to ensure he puts the interest of the state first in his official dealings. It added that the appointment takes immediate effect.
