The official swearing-in ceremony for over 1,900 2023 Batch “B” Stream One National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members took place today at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kussala, Karaye Local Government Area of Kano State.
The State NYSC Coordinator, Malam Sulaiman Andy Ibrahim, announced this significant milestone during the formal opening ceremony.
During the event, Malam Andy Ibrahim highlighted that the corps members are currently undergoing training in leadership, entrepreneurship, and paramilitary activities.
He commended their dedication and expressed confidence that they will have a successful service year. In attendance at the ceremony was the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by His Deputy, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
According to a statement issued by Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, said the Governor assured the newly sworn-in corps members of the government’s commitment to their security and welfare.
He emphasized that all necessary measures have been put in place and will be sustained. Furthermore, Governor Abba highlighted the government’s dedication to youth empowerment and education development in Kano State.
He reiterated that improving the educational sector is one of the top priorities of his administration, and expressed his belief that the corps members’ one-year mandatory service in Kano State will contribute significantly to achieving the government’s vision of taking education to new heights.
Governor Abba congratulated the corps members once again on their induction into the NYSC and urged them to consider Kano State as their second home, where he encouraged them to approach their primary places of assignment with dedication and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
