As part of its campaign stategy to generate more interests of electorates into the party, the master of ceremony announced defection of over 4500 electorates from PDP to the All Progressive Congress mainly from Shagari and Yabo LGAs.
Speaking at the cermony,the party chairman Isah Sadiq Achida condemn activities of the present Sokoto state leadership saying it does not deserve followership of elecrorates.
He enumerated a number of Commissioners that defected from PDP to APC siting example with Hajiya Kulu Haruna who is from the zone.
However, he said Tinubu has never done wrong to northerners saying Atiku was among the influentials who did not support implementation of Shari’a law in the northern part of the country and therefore not worthy for support.
He accused the public fund mismanagement by the state government especially the less than 10 km Shagari-Yabo road consuming over N7b.
Senator Wamakko who is the APC godfather in the state said politics is not a political institution for demeaning status of politicians or indivisuals but for availing what one performs for his people.
“Believing on the welfare and happiness of the masses,I urge all stakeholders to consider their sufferings especially on the deadline for swap,masses are seriously suffering, their raw produce are perishing while others cannot reach banks in anyway to change the little they have,they are Nigerians expected to cue for hours during election proper”,Wamakko urged.
The governorship candidate Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto in his strategy commended the gathering for supporting Alu in particular and not the party itself and expressed determination to execute his eight points agenda if given the opportunity to serve as the governor of the state.
He similarly spoke on the plans for womenfolks.
Director General for women awareness Hajiya Kulu Haruna who defected from PDP said APC has come to stay in Yabo and promised to mobilise more women to vote APC candidates into power advising women not to apply haena on their fingers for computer to accept to accept their prints.
