Oyo APC caucus seeks preferred zoning of political offices

The G6 Caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) group in Ibarapa zone of Oyo State expressed preference for zoning of political offices in the zone on Thursday.

The Caucus administrative Secretary,Mr Stephen Ojelere stated that the G6 Caucus sought for zoning of House of Assembly seats to Ibarapa North and Ibarapa Central constituencies.

Ojelere said the preference arose in order to prevent rancour that usually followed party primaries; the meeting was held in Idere in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area.

Our correspondent reports that Ibarapa Central/ North Federal constituency consist of five major towns in the zone,they are: Idere, Tapa,Igboora, Ayete and Igangan.

Ojelere also said the Caucus believed that zoning the positions would enable candidates emerge from an acceptable free and fair process, since the decision to zone the elective positions was unanimous by all the leaders in the Caucus.
