Palm Sunday: Be agents of change, CAN president urges Christians

Daniel Okoh, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has called upon Christians to embody hope and become catalysts for positive transformation, especially amidst the current challenges facing the nation, as they celebrate Palm Sunday.

In a message delivered on Sunday, Okoh urged Christians to emulate the unity demonstrated by Jesus Christ during his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, as depicted in the Bible.

Palm Sunday, a significant feast in Christianity, marks Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem before his crucifixion and resurrection.

Okoh emphasized the importance of setting aside differences and fostering harmony, reconciliation, and understanding among Nigerians, drawing inspiration from the spirit of Palm Sunday. He stressed that love and faith have the power to overcome adversity and bring people together.

Reflecting on the nation’s current circumstances, Okoh encouraged action rooted in the principles of Palm Sunday. He urged Christians to become beacons of hope and positive change in their communities, reaching out to neighbors, extending kindness to the marginalized, and advocating for justice for the oppressed.

As Christians embark on a journey of introspection and renewal during this holy season, Okoh urged them to uphold the teachings of Christ and work towards a stronger, more united Nigerian society built on the values of peace, justice, and solidarity.

In conclusion, he called for collective efforts to bring about positive change, affirming that through unity and faith, Nigeria can overcome its challenges and emerge stronger.
