PDP and Atiku to Hold Global Press Conference Following Tribunal Loss

By  Milcah  Tanimu

In the wake of their recent setback at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have announced plans to host a worldwide press conference. This announcement comes just one day after the PEPT dismissed their case, affirming President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 general election.

Chris Uche, SAN, who serves as Atiku’s Lead Counsel, stated that he had received instructions from his client to pursue an appeal at the Supreme Court. Uche expressed his perspective by saying, “The verdict has been delivered, but justice has not been served. Fortunately, the legal system grants us the opportunity to appeal to the Supreme Court. Our clients have instructed us to proceed to the Supreme Court, and the fight continues.”

The PEPT, which convened at 9:40 a.m. at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, issued a unanimous ruling that found Atiku, Obi, and their respective parties’ petition to be without merit, thereby upholding Tinubu’s electoral triumph in the presidential election held on February 25.
