The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has addressed concerns regarding the involvement of Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, in the party’s internal struggles. The BOT extended an invitation to Wike for a crucial meeting to resolve the ongoing issues within the party.

Senator Abdul Ningi, a member of the PDP BOT, criticized Wike for allegedly undermining the PDP while still being a member. Ningi emphasized that it is unacceptable for Wike to support other parties that are opposing the PDP.

Ningi, speaking on Arise TV, highlighted that the current discord within the PDP is a fallout from the last general election, with some members dissatisfied with the results and actively working against the party’s interests.

The BOT, following a meeting with Rivers State Governor Siminalaya Fubara, decided to formally address Wike’s actions. Ningi expressed a desire for unity within the PDP, noting that the BOT has sent a letter to Wike requesting a meeting to discuss the party’s future and address the issues at hand.

Ningi also indicated that the BOT’s aim is to solidify the party’s presence and resolve internal conflicts to ensure its survival and effectiveness.
