PDP Condemns Banditry Attacks in Sokoto Communities

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sokoto State chapter, has condemned the recent banditry attacks in Shagari Local Government Area and other parts of the state, which left several people dead, many injured, and dozens abducted.

The attacks also displaced hundreds of residents, forcing many to seek refuge in nearby towns. The affected villages include Aske Dodo, Tungar Barke, Jandutse, Lungu, Tungar-Doruwa, Zango, Yan Yandu, Tungar Na’anza, Kambama, and Ila.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal, the party urged the state government to prioritize security and channel resources toward protecting lives and property, rather than focusing on projects such as rebuilding roundabouts and erecting fences.

The PDP called for urgent deployment of security personnel to the affected areas, provision of relief assistance to displaced persons, and a thorough investigation to bring perpetrators to justice.

The party expressed solidarity with the victims, prayed for the safe release of abducted persons, and appealed to all Nigerians to unite in condemning the attacks.
