Phone snatchers stabbed 22-year-old man to death

A 22-year-old man identified as Abdussalam Muhammad has been stabbed to death by suspected phone snatchers in Yakasai Quarters of Kano Municipal Area of Kano State on Friday, December 11.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, his mother, Bilikisu Alhassan Nuhu Yakassai, said some hoodlums broke into their house at about 3am. She said the armed men took her phone and that of her children’s before they went into the room where Muhammed was sleeping, broke the door and stabbed him in the abdomen. She said she took Muhammed on a motorcycle to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital where he died.

“I informed my mother-in-law about the incident in my house, after I shouted with prayers and my neighbor came out, they ran after the thieves but they escaped,” she said.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said one of the perpetrators had already been arrested. He added that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
