Physically Challenged Man Arrested for Alleged Murder of Ekiti Farmer

The police in Ekiti State have initiated an inquiry into the killing of a farmer identified as Sikiru on his farmland, reportedly by a deaf and dumb individual named Alabi.

The incident unfolded late on Tuesday at Ipole Farm Settlement, Agbado Ekiti, in the Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state. According to sources, Alabi allegedly stole farm produce from Sikiru’s land and became violent when confronted by the farmer. Fellow farmers intervened, apprehending Alabi, who is accused of inflicting a deep machete cut on Sikiru’s neck.

Upon hearing the farmer’s cries, other farmers rushed to the scene, discovering Sikiru severely injured and covered in blood. The police were subsequently called to the scene, and Alabi was taken into custody.

Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect. The case is under investigation, and Abutu stated that the suspect would face charges once the inquiry is concluded.
