The Executive Secretary , Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission,NCPC Bishop Stephen Adegbite has said that the protection of Pilgrims in Holy land is a must in line with the Commission’s policy of guaranteeing the safety of our pilgrims.
Bishop Adegbite stated this on Tuesday in Abuja when the members of board of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board paid him a courtesy visit at NCPC corporate headquarters in Abuja.
He emphasized that Israel is safe for pilgrims, adding that “our journey must terminate in Israel, God’s own country.”
The NCPC boss further promised that under his leadership, pilgrimage would be more spiritual and developmental.
He said that the Commission would not cheat anyone and nobody should think of cheating the Commission because transparency remains the hallmark of his administration.
According to him, the Easter pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan would commence next month and the duration for the Commission’s pilgrimage exercise has been increased to nine nights and ten days.
He gave assurance to work in synergy with the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board to advance the cause of Christian Pilgrimage in Lagos state and Nigeria as a whole.
Earlier, the Chairman, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Bishop Akinpelu Johnson, represented by the Vice Chairman of the board, Bishop. Prof Rufus Oguntuase said they were in NCPC to congratulate their own for his well-deserved appointment.
He appreciated him for his love and commitment in the service of God and humanity and appealed to the Executive Secretary to ensure that the pilgrimage cost for the Easter pilgrimage is released to enable them plan along with the intending pilgrims.
Bishop Oguntuase canvassed for the flag off of the Easter pilgrimage to be held in Lagos state.
The courtesy visit was attended by the board Secretary, Mrs Yetunde Gbafe, the head of operations, Mrs Kehinde Omisore and other members of the board.
