Plateau Council Boss Laments as Kidnappers Kill One, Abduct Four in Qua’an-Pan

The Executive Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Council, Christopher Audu Manship, has expressed deep concern over the rising cases of kidnapping and criminal activities in the area.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers stormed Shendai community in Namu District on Saturday, killing one person and abducting four others.

A statement signed by Danaan Cletus Sylvanus, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Council Chairman, and made available to journalists in Jos on Monday, described the incident as alarming.

Hon. Christopher Audu Manship extended his condolences to the people of Shendai community and urged security agencies to ensure the safe release of the abducted victims. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security and pledged to work closely with security operatives to facilitate a swift rescue operation.

As part of his response, Manship led a fact-finding mission to the affected areas, accompanied by security personnel led by Lt. Col. Ogunrinde Soji, along with local government officials, four councillors from Namu District, and the Divisional Police Officer of Namu Police Division. The visit aimed to assess the security situation and provide reassurance to affected residents.

During the visit, the council chairman met with the family of the deceased and relatives of the abducted victims, offering words of comfort.

The statement further noted that Lt. Col. Soji assured residents of a thorough investigation into the attack, promising to rescue the victims and enhance security measures in the area.

Community members expressed appreciation for the council chairman’s swift intervention, describing his response as a demonstration of unwavering dedication to their safety and well-being.
