Plateau group lauds PSIRS boss Jim Wayas for outstanding performance

Plateau Regeneration Group on Sunday hailed the Executive Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS),Mr Jim Pam Wayas, for his outstanding performance in the last one year in office.

“We commend Mr Wayas for his transparency, efficiency and developmental strides in the past one year “, they added.

The deputy chairperson of the group Alhaji Sani Adullahi, in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos said since assumption of office Hon Wayas has raised the bar for revenue generation as the state has recorded a significant milestone in it’s Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR), reaching N2 billion monthly , a 150% increase from the N800 million generated when he assumed office last year.

According to the group ” Without revenue, government cannot do anything, just like without blood nothing can function in a human being, we commend Jim Pam Wayas for introducing an intelligent revenue billing system (PIRBS) for ease of taxation.”

“The billing system, known as Plateau Intelligent Revenue Billing System, was unveiled recently in Jos.”

” The current PSIRS has significantly increased the State IGR compared to the periods that precede its formation. ”

” Mr Pam Wayas in the past one year has intensify efforts around its core functions of tax assessment, collection, and remittance to the government by deploying modern technology for more efficiency and accountability while bolstering revenue generation”.

“Hon Wayas is also working work hand-in-hand with the media to educate the public about the importance of taxation and its role in funding essential public services”

They added that “Wayas is a leadership material. “ We the members of this group have confidence in him because he possesses the essential qualities of leadership and fundamentals that inspire influence, which are integrity, insight and inclusiveness. ”

“In a sane society, where merit, justice, equity, intellectualism, experience and ability to deliver quality leadership count, Wayas stands tall.

He is doing excellently well and the Plateau Revenue Board is wearing a new face, we call on him to continue to do his best to move the board forward.
