By Golok Nanmwa, Jos

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong on Tuesday said those who forcefully annexed homes and villages in areas around Gashish community of Barkin Ladi Local Government are living on borrowed time because of the comprehensive security strategy being implemented by the government.

He also gave assurance that there will be no land grabbing and that all displaced persons will be resettled and rehabilitated in their original places of abode.

Governor Simon Lalong disclosed this while inspecting the site donated by Nigerian Electricity Supply Company for the new Mobile Police unit in Gashish district of the local Government.

Governor Lalong appreciated Nesco’s gesture and promised that government would immediately rehabilitate the facility to enable the mobile police unit to begin operating at optimal capacity within record time.

Lalong said the government had released funds for secondary school students in the area who missed their school certificate examination because of the recent cases of violent attacks.

Our correspondent also gathered that besides the Nesco facility in the Kusa main office of the company, Gashish community also donated 75 rooms for the Mobile Police unit.
